Everybody know my friend Edward??

Well Edward is a great teacher in Chicago and his classroom is in dire need of some supplies (a pencil sharpener, most importantly). Through DonorsChoose.org, they are looking for YOUR help to make their classroom a better place. Every small donation helps and if you have a couple of bucks to spare (since you skipped Starbucks this morning), show some holiday love and get those kids some pencils!

Here is the link: “Sharp Minds Need Sharp Tools”: http://bit.ly/7RQHi5

More info on DonorsChoose.org:

This and all other projects at DonorsChoose.org have been submitted by public school teachers who seek resources that will help their students learn.

Contributions are tax-deductible and donors hear back from the classroom they choose to support.

I’m trying to decide whether to save the last of my gas money or just go to Urban Outfitters and buy these.

Hmm?

This house at the end of our block has their Christmas lights synchronized with the Christmas radio station here in Houston.
I watched it for about two songs, dying laughing. Not that it was a bad show! It was incredible, it was just hilarious to see the lights by the door flicker when Mariah Carey sings “All I want for Christmasssss, iiiiissssss YYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOUUUUUU!”

My cubemate gave me this LEMON today. I keep glancing at it thinking it’s an orange. I took a picture next to my pen, for size reference. Incredible! I’ll use it tomorrow when I make this tabouleh:
(Recipe from my mom’s Frenchie friend)
For 6 to 8 peopleA salad bowl250g (1/2 pound) of semolina (medium not too small)1 cucumber (not too big)3 tomatoes1 white fresh onion1 pepper (yellow red or green)Fresh mint and fresh parsley (little bunch)2 yellow lemons
prepare it 2 hours before eating to let the semolina absorb the water:
After washing cut all vegetables in little square (no greater than  0,5cmX0,5cm).Do not remove water neither seed of tomatoes & cucumber put it all in the salad bowl.Chop mint and parsley put in salad bowl.Press lemon to have juice put in the salad bowl.Pour semolina into salad bowl and stir all together.
Put in the fridgeBefore eating taste it to check if semolina is well cooked it is to dry you can add olive oil or a little more water to end the “cooking”.Season as you like with French dressing or nothing.
You can adapt the taboulé with what you want. For example Lebanese just put fresh herb.In Maghreb it should be done with raisins. But you can add cold chicken, Surimi, mussels or little prawn it’s up to you.
You can replace semolina by bulgur.
